Diwali Gift Ideas 2026: Dry Fruit, Saffron and Diyas, Delivered by Nov 5

By Published Updated 4 min read

Diwali 2026 centers on Lakshmi Puja, on Sunday, November 8. The five days of the festival run from Dhanteras on Friday, November 6, to Bhai Dooj on Tuesday, November 10. Gifts are usually given in the days before and during those visits, so we plan delivery by Thursday, November 5, before Dhanteras.

To get there on time, order by Tue, Oct 27 with Standard shipping or Mon, Nov 2 with Express.

Our Diwali boxes at a glance

Both boxes are vegetarian and alcohol-free, packed by hand in Lynn, Massachusetts, with a handwritten note.

What goes into a good Diwali gift

Dry fruit and nuts

A box of dried fruit and nuts is one of the most familiar Diwali gifts, shared with family, neighbors and colleagues through the festival. Our tins come pre-packed and labeled by a licensed producer, so they travel and keep well. The trunk adds Medjool dates and pistachios.

Saffron

Saffron, or kesar, colors and perfumes festive sweets like kheer and peda, and it is a gift a cook will actually use. Ours is Grade A saffron threads from Herat, Afghanistan. Our March 2026 lot was tested by the Saffron Quality Control Lab, Herat Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock (Report 004389) and meets ISO 3632-1:2010 Category I on all tested parameters. The lab values are on Our Saffron.

Diyas and light

Diwali is the festival of lights, and homes are lit with small lamps called diyas. Clay diyas are traditional and often bought fresh each year. We chose brass because it lasts: a brass diya or tealight set comes out again every autumn.

Something for the tea tray

Visits mean tea. Masala chai and a bottle of rose water give the host something to serve the next guest, and the saffron-cardamom shortbread in the Festival of Lights box is shelf-stable, so it arrives intact.

Etiquette notes we followed

  • Vegetarian and alcohol-free. Many families who celebrate Diwali keep a vegetarian kitchen, and many avoid alcohol. Both of our Diwali boxes are vegetarian and alcohol-free.
  • Red, gold and green. These colors read as festive and auspicious. The Festival of Lights box comes in red and gold.
  • Avoid black. Black is widely seen as inauspicious for Diwali gifts and wrapping.
  • Customs vary. Diwali is celebrated by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains, among others, and customs differ by family and region. When in doubt, sweets, dried fruit and light are safe choices.
  • The greeting. "Happy Diwali" works everywhere. "Shubh Deepavali" wishes an auspicious Diwali, and the Festival of Lights box includes a "Shubh Deepavali" card.

Which box for whom

For a colleague, a friend's family or a host you will visit: The Festival of Lights Diwali Gift Box. It covers the essentials for $148: sweets, dry fruit, saffron and a diya.

For parents, in-laws or the family hosting Lakshmi Puja: The Golden Diya Diwali Trunk. Eleven items, 2 g of saffron and a trunk that stays in the house long after the festival.

For the cook: add the Raihan Saffron Gift Vial to either box, or send it on its own with a card.

Why we built these boxes

Exclusive Gift House was founded by Emir, whose family heritage is Afghan. Dried fruit, nuts, saffron and rose water are the flavors of our sister brand, Raihan Saffron, and they sit naturally in a Diwali box. We kept both boxes vegetarian and alcohol-free, and each product page lists the allergens.

We also set the delivery date by the calendar, not by a guess. Delivery by Thursday, November 5, means the box is on the table before Dhanteras, the first day of the festival.

Shop every box in our Diwali gifts collection, and see the dates for the rest of the season on our order-by dates page. Too late for Express? The Exclusive Gift House E-Gift Card arrives by email.
