We started with the brass diya because Diwali is the festival of lights. Brass catches a small flame and glows gold, and the diya can be lit again every year. Dried fruit and nuts are a classic Diwali gift, and ours are Afghan, a nod to our founder's heritage.

The saffron is from our sister house, Raihan Saffron. Grade A saffron threads from Herat, Afghanistan. Steep a few threads in warm milk for 10 minutes for kesar doodh, or stir them into kheer.

Every box includes a handwritten note, a keepsake box, tissue and ribbon. Packed by hand in Lynn, Massachusetts.

The story

We built this box for Diwali hosts, the people who keep their doors open all week. It is vegetarian and alcohol-free, packed in red and gold, and most of it is meant to be shared.

Orders are packed by hand in Lynn, Massachusetts and ship within 1 to 2 business days. Standard delivery then takes 2 to 5 business days, and Express takes 2 business days.
