The olive-wood board is the centerpiece. Olive wood is dense, with a swirling grain, so no two boards look alike. Wipe it clean and rub in a little oil now and then, and it lasts for years. The olive oil, balsamic and honey stock the pantry for the whole season.

The saffron is from our sister house, Raihan Saffron. Grade A saffron threads from Herat, Afghanistan. For the rice, steep a pinch of threads in warm water for 10 minutes, then fold it through.

Every box includes a handwritten note, a keepsake box, tissue and ribbon. This one comes in our keepsake trunk. Packed by hand in Lynn, Massachusetts.

We built the Harvest Table trunk for the family that hosts every year. It holds what a big table needs, from the board the cheese goes on to a saffron rice worth putting on the menu.
